• Nike’s digital collectibles initiative, .Swoosh, has moved into the mainstream with its live “Airphoria” experience in the wildly popular Fortnite game. This is perhaps the biggest move an NFT-native brand has made ever. Although Airphoria itself is not an NFT-centric experience, Nike’s long-term positioning here is clear. They want their shoes to be desirable and collectible in the metaverse, just as they are in the physical world. Increasing awareness for both the .Swoosh brand and the concept of digital collectibles to millions of prospective NFT buyers can only help the industry in the long run.
