Nifty Thought

• Doodles has formally announced they are moving Doodles 2 for Flow. While much of the hardcore NFT community is lamenting this shift away from ETH to a more centralized blockchain, the reality is that normal users will not care. Very few normal people care about centralization in their day-to-day lives. They will, however, benefit from essentially gas-free transactions and a smoother onboarding experience. It is clear that Doodles 2 is being built to onboard the masses rather than cater to the core NFT-native audience. In this sense, the choice to move to Flow seems perfectly logical so long as the team has confidence in Flow’s durability for the long term. Flow will not be what kills Doodles 2. However, the path to onboarding millions is difficult and the Doodles team still has a long road ahead of them before they get to that point.
