NiftyNoon: Does the Yuga Labs Otherside's Second Trip Even Matter?
Despite hype leading up to the second trip, price action has been mild (March 27, 2023)
Nifty Thought
Despite Yuga Labs successfully running their second trip test run with more than 7200 concurrent players at peak, price action for the project has remained relatively flat. Although this event validated the project’s ability to execute technically on some level, it did not demonstrate the team’s ability to create compelling and engaging gameplay. While that was likely not the intent of this 2nd trip, gameplay should always be top of mind for any gaming experience as that is ultimately what will drive interest. With this being said, it is unlikely future trips for Otherdeeds drive any buy-side pressure into the project until Yuga Labs is able to crack this.
While the basic collect-a-thon mini-game during the 2nd trip was not particularly engaging, it did reward the winning with helmet NFTs that will be airdropped into their wallets this week. This helmet could end up being the most rare and coveted wearable in the Otherside metaverse. Therefore, it will be interesting to watch the price action of this collection.
