NiftyNoon: NFT Influencer Completely Compromised in Devastating Hack

Notable NFT Twitter influencer, NFT God, had his wallets and social media accounts hacked due to computer malware (January 17, 2023)

Nifty Thought

• While the Twitter influencer NFT_God is polarizing due to his content style, his full-scale compromise has still sent shockwaves across the entire space. His hack was the result of malware that was installed on his computer through a Google-sponsored link. Because this link was promoted to the top, NFT_God assumed it was the official software he was looking for and downloaded it on his computer. This enabled hackers to take over everything including his Twitter, Substack, and crypto hot wallets. On the crypto side, his biggest mistake was setting up his Ledger with a hot seed phrase rather than generating a new seed phrase on that device. It is also important to note that you can wipe and generate a new seed phrase on your Ledger at any time without needing to buy a new one. Had NFT_God done this, his crypto assets in this Ledger would have been safe.
