X, formerly Twitter, might be the most crypto-friendly social network remaining (August 31, 2023)

• Elon Musk’s plans for X, formerly known as Twitter, remain ambiguous. However, it seems that the platform has been making moves in the background to participate in the crypto space. Recent speculation has been centered around an X token for creators. With the recent tumultuous success of SocialFi platform FriendTech, speculation around a more established social token makes sense. If Elon Musk ships X token, it will undoubtedly be huge news for the entire crypto industry and likely bring in a large amount of new retail capital. This capital injection eventually flow into culturally relevant crypto projects such as CryptoPunks and Chromie Squiggles. Nonetheless, all rumors should be taken with a grain of salt until something tangible actually manifests. It may be worthwhile to keep an eye on what X ultimately does in crypto but it is likely not wise to make purchasing decisions based on this speculation.
