NiftyNoon: Happy Holidays! (Off until Jan 3rd)
Former President & COO of Activision Blizzard, Daniel Alegre, joins Yuga Labs as CEO (20th of December)
Nifty Thought
Yuga, the home of BAYC, Otherside, Cryptopunksnfts, and others, is only a little more than two years old. However, when it comes to the metaverse they are competing against giants. They wanted to hire someone who has a track record of building at the top level in order to catapult Otherside and their other ambitious projects to new heights. Their search led them to Daniel Alegre, who will take over as CEO of Yuga Labs in the first part of 2023. Daniel is a seasoned and truly visionary leader with extensive experience growing media and gaming businesses. As President and Chief Operating Officer of Activision Blizzard, he has contributed to the company's amazing portfolio of worldwide gaming brands, including World of Warcraft, Call of Duty, Diablo, Overwatch, and Candy Crush. At NN, we are optimistic about Yuga Labs' ability to continue pushing the boundaries of what is possible in the NFT realm and thus believe Daniel to be the right person for the job.
Several media outlets, claim that some of the photographs in the Trump’s digital trading cards collection violate copyright laws and were used without a valid permit. These images were taken from numerous projects by companies like Amazon and Walmart. The NFTs however were produced by a little-known company NFT INT LLC. Therefore, the responsibility for using unlicensed images lies with them and not the former President. As expected, the collection sold out and is presently still doing well on the secondary market (although the floor price dipped to 0.25 ETH).
