Nifty Thought

• Dookey Dash is genius in its simplicity. The repetitive gameplay is addictive and also very accessible. Anyone from an elementary school child to a bored retiree can quickly understand the core game mechanics. Although not much is known about what this skill-based mint will yield, the teases Yuga Labs has been releasing are clever in that they fuel speculation that then drives people to buy sewer passes and play their game. NFTs are fueled by speculation and are ultimately momentum assets. Yuga Labs is clearly a master at driving both into their projects and is the gold standard for engaging a web3 audience.

• Furthermore, Yuga Labs offering in-game boosts that can only be purchased in $ape is interesting. One may think that these vehicles to spend $ape are beneficial because they will push the price up. However, a higher $ape price also results in a higher US dollar price of these in-game boosts. Simple economics dictates that as the price for this good goes up, so too does the demand go down. This balance will be extremely difficult to strike as Yuga Labs develops their $ape sink vehicles for their Otherside metaverse.
