Donald Trump makes a comeback with his series 2 NFTs (April 19, 2023)

• After a wildly successful series 1 NFT drop, Donald Trump has returned with a second series NFT drop. This is largely being viewed as a fundraising effort. In many ways, selling these NFTs to raise money is not dissimilar from political campaigns selling merchandise. It would be a strong bull signal if this drop led to normal fans of Trump to purchase their first NFTs as digital collectibles. However, as the Reddit season 3 drop has shown, NFT adoption with average consumers is still slow. Most buy volume even for these “mainstream” NFTs still seems to be coming from the NFT degen community that is hoping to sell these tokens for a profit. Nonetheless, the consistent stream of mainstream figures and brands creating true digital collectibles is only good for the entire ecosystem in the long run.
