Although information on Project Animus is scarce, the announcement trailer has generated considerable interest for Clone X. Not too long ago, the Clone X floor price was in the 6 ETH range. The climb back up to 9 ETH off the back of a simple 30-second trailer is an excellent example of how attention, not value, drives current NFT prices. As attention shifts away from Clone X in the coming months to other projects, it is likely these currently elevated prices will slowly retrace. With that being said, the underlying value proposition of Clone X is undeniable. Murakami, RTFKT, and Nike are huge forces that seem poised to easily make it out of this bear market.
There is so much to be said about the bombshell DeGods 0% royalty announcement. The rise of 0% royalty marketplaces on Solana was already significantly impacting DeGods royalty revenue. There has been some criticisms surrounding the change as some people feel this will make it nearly impossible for smaller projects (that must charge a royalty to stay alive) to compete with DeGods. However, from the perspective of NFT buyers and NFT sellers, this is likely to be strictly a good thing. It is exciting to see Frank and the DeGods team experiment with new NFT models and think critically about creating revenue streams that do not rely on their NFT stakeholders.
