DigiDaigaku Dragons finally mint for lucky viewers of the 2023 SuperBowl (February 13, 2023)

Nifty Thought

• DigiDaigaku’s Super Bowl commercial has finally aired with the highly anticipated DigiDaigaku Dragons free mint. On the bright side, the entire process was smooth from start to finish. There were no server issues and gas wars to be had. DigiDaigaku Dragons’ price action performed in line with expectations after a hot initial drop in the 0.6-0.7 ETH range before eventually settling in the 0.3-0.4 ETH range (similar to DigiDaigaku Villains) However, many people complained about the actual advertisement itself which did not explain much about Limit Break or even the concept of NFTs. In fact, the QR code shown became a link to CEO Gabriel Leydon’s personal Twitter once DigiDaigaku Dragons minted out. Many community members argue that the link should have been to a splash page that could have explained Limit Break’s vision for free NFT gaming or even an overview of DigiDaigaku as a whole.

• Ultimately, this is probably a missed opportunity for the NFT space. It is unlikely this mint onboarded anyone new into NFTs. Prospective NFT collectors that did scan the QR code were likely confused and left without being shown the beauty of web3.
