Nifty Analysis

• The royalty debate continues as X2Y2 openly discusses decentralization and the implications of NFT creators applying sales restrictions to NFTs. While their post was generally received poorly, it did ignite a debate on what ownership truly means in this context. On one hand, people view X2Y2 as a bad actor that makes their own royalty compulsory while making creator royalties optional. On the other hand, people fear the precedent QQL sets with blacklisting X2Y2 could potentially lead to even more restrictions in the future (such as blurring NFTs that are traded OTC).

• The $gang token from GutterCatGang will likely be just the first of many tokens released by reputable NFT projects over the next few months. There are similar tokens rumored to be coming from Proof Collective (Moonbirds) and RTFKT (Clone X). The performance of $gang will serve as a good benchmark for future token drops during the bear market, especially if the team is able to get the token listed on major exchanges (as Yuga did with $ape).
