PROOF’s Moonbirds was once one of the top profile picture projects by a wide margin. After a tumultuous 2022, Moonbirds has fallen more than perhaps any other top-profile picture project thus far. The reasons contributing this are too long to name, ranging from the project changing its IP license to CC0 months after mint to failing to deliver compelling nesting rewards.
Moving forward, Moonbirds has elected to focus itself on NFT art. Creating scarcity of digital art is perhaps one of the most apparent and durable use cases for NFTs. This focus makes sense but is highly contingent on relationships and execution. Having done notable NFT collaborations with key artists such as Beeple, XCOPY, and Snowfro, it is clear that PROOF is uniquely positioned within the NFT art space. So long as the company continues to cultivate and maintain these strong artist connections, there may be an opportunity for the project to once again claim its throne amongst the top NFT companies.
