Azuki continues its march into Asian mainstream culture (April 13, 2023)

Nifty Thought

• Azuki continues its move into mainstream Asian culture with its partnership with IPX, the platform behind the famous LINE FRIENDS characters. Although NFT sentiment remains low across the board, Azuki has remained successful in generating interest for their project. Azuki’s approach has been very methodical with a focus on increasing awareness for Azuki rather than following the Yuga Labs route in delivering more airdrops to holders. While airdrop mania may prove to be effective when there is consistent interest in NFTs (and therefore the things being airdropped), it has proven to not be effective during times where the overall NFT market is rapidly shrinking. Conversely, Azuki’s approach in generating new interest in Azuki as a brand to care about seems to be working out so far. Only time will tell which approach will prove to be durable enough to make it to the next run.
