• The Blur marketplace care package airdrop (containing $BLUR which unlocks in 2023) has taken the NFT world by storm. Blur, the self-described NFT marketplace for professional traders, has become increasingly popular during its beta trials over recent months due to its speed and aggregation features. Furthermore, Blur itself offers an internal royalty-optional marketplace that continues the trend away from royalties NiftyNoon has discussed over recent weeks. Unlike other royalty optional marketplaces, Blur offers an incentive system that pays users with $BLUR token to list their NFTs with creator royalties turned on. While the platform is undeniably promising and likely will continue to earn market share, the airdrop itself is questionable. If everyone receives $BLUR via an airdrop, who is going to buy it? Past NFT marketplace tokens such as $LOOKS from LooksRare have all eventually trended to zero. It will take a lot for Blur to become an exception.
