Azuki floor price soars while other floor prices plummet (April 18, 2023)

Nifty Thought

• Azuki has announced further details for their Las Vegas event which has caused the floor price to soar at a time when many other projects are bleeding. Many new buyers are speculating that an upcoming airdrop will accompany the party, similar to the famous Beanz airdrop at Azuki’s NFT LA event. While this has been discussed previously on NiftyNoon, it is interesting to note that Azuki has seemingly deliberately decoupled their event from larger NFT conferences such as NFT LA and NFT NYC. Generally, only industry leaders will decouple from industry events in this manner (i.e. Apple’s historical refusal to participate in CES).

• Azuki’s move away from broader NFT events shows it believes itself to be operating from a position of strength. People will attend Azuki’s Las Vegas event, not because they were in the city for other events, but because they deliberately wanted to engage with Azuki. Only time will reveal if this strategy proves to be fruitful.
