Initially, it will feature 15 collections available via the Amazon Digital Marketplace, but purchases will be restricted to traditional payment methods such as credit cards, and cryptocurrency will not be accepted. The move comes after Amazon announced a partnership with Ava Labs in January, indicating a desire to accelerate entry into the web3 space. The company reportedly plans to focus on web3 gaming in the future. While Amazon's entry into the NFT market is likely to increase mainstream awareness of NFTs, it remains to be seen how its marketplace will differentiate itself from other NFT marketplaces and compete with established players such as OpenSea and Blur.
